24. Wine drinkers have healthier life styles

Of course to confound matters further - no real black and whites here - it was found that wine drinkers have healthier life styles over all. This had to do with diet, exercise, smoking and education. Are these just incidental factors related to socioeconomic and educational status or are these health factors integrally related to wine consumption? Is there any connection between a healthier life style and the consumption of wine?

We suggested that there are complexes of consumption and behavior that are naturally linked. The natural acids of wine prepare the stomach for fresh produce, while beer prepares the stomach for starch, and liquor inhibits digestion.
